Few cmds in ESX to troubleshoot Service Console

  1. route-n will show you your default Gateway for SC
  2. esxcfg-vswif -l will get Portgroup name your SC, mostly this is “Service Consol”. Here you will also see the IP Address your SC is using
  3. esxcfg-vswitch -l to see the vmnics  used by your SC
  4. esxcfg-nics -l to see if those vmnics are are up
  5. esxcfg-vmknic -l will show you your VMkernel Network interfaces if any
  6. esxcfg-route -l This will show you VMkernel routes only
  7. ifconfig -a will show if there has been any errors on the vmnic#
